Anita
Anita Tadavarthy – MAcOM, LAc.

Metis Acupuncture Clinics’ founder and primary practitioner is Anita Tadavarthy, MAcOM, LAc. Anita is of East Indian descent. Anita was born in the US but was raised between two countries, India and the US.

Anita holds a masters degree in traditional Oriental Medicine from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine, www.ocom.edu. Anita enjoys practicing a type of acupuncture known as, distal or far-distance needling. Anita traveled the US learning distal acupuncture from notable master, Richard T. Tan, LAc, OMD.

Anita’s other academic accomplishments include graduating as valedictorian of her high school and graduating Beta Gamma Sigma from the University of Virginia. Before practicing acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, Anita worked as a financial analyst. Previously, Anita worked as an investment banker for Morgan Stanley, in New York City, and also worked as a financial analyst at the Gap, in San Francisco, and Nike, in Portland.

Anita’s Nike job brought her to Portland, Oregon. In Portland, she realized her passion to help others and to own her own small business.

Recently, with the help of friends and family, Anita ran a free clinic in India for four months. From September through December 2007, Anita saw 100+ patients a day and treated 5,000+ during her time in India. Anita is the primary practitioner for Metis Acupuncture Clinics.

Jacob Morton – LMT#11189

Our in-house massage therapist, Jacob Morton LMT [LMT #11189], provides a complete range of massage techniques Tuesdays – Saturdays by appointment. Call 503.819.2904.

Jacob graduated from Ashmead school of massage therapy in 2004, and has been working full time as a massage therapist for the past 7 years. During that time he has taken 100’s of hours of continuing education and internships in many modalities of massage; including MyoFascial Release, deep tissue, Thai, pregnancy, Swedish, sports, and trigger point therapy.

During his career, Jacob has shown a passion for treatment and sports massage. Over the past 5 years, he has provided massage to over 1000 athletes at local sporting events; Using a combination of MyoFascial Release and Thai massage, he has proven to be a valuable asset to runners, bikers, triathletes, bodybuilders, paddlers, and any sport in between. Working with these athletes has inspired Jacob to take up bicycling and kayaking in an effort to better understand the workings of the athletic mind and body.

Jacob also spends a lot of his time and skills in treating postural dysfunctions, migraines, and scoliosis. Using MyoFascial Release, deep tissue, and his own stretching style, he is able to create long lasting relief for a variety of chronic and acute conditions.

In addition to focused massage, Jacob can also do a soothing relaxation massage, and has great pride in his foot, hand, and scalp massages.

Michelle StobeMichelle Stobbe, LAc #153715ac

Michelle Stobbe received her Master’s Degree in ‘Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine’ from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine. She believes that preventative medicine is the key to a healthy life. She love that Chines medicine focuses on balancing the body’s natural rhythms. By healing one aspect of the body, you can heal another. Specialties include: Pain management, stress, insomnia, allergies and fertility. In addition to acupuncture, she enjoys using other modalities such as: Tuina Massage, pediatric massage, reflexology, gua sha, cupping, scalp and ear acupuncture and electrical stimulation. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her son, going for long bike rides with her husband and traveling.

 

Bree Bousquet

Bree Bousquet, LMT #18545

Bree Bousquet graduated from Oregon School of Massage. During her training, she learned about the importance of incorporating the mind, body and spirit into healing.

Bree’s interest is in deep tissue, trigger point therapy, stress reduction and swedish massage. In her free time she enjoys cooking, travel and yoga.
